Well, I finally did it.

Thank you for stopping by, and witnessing this site’s first tottering steps on the Net. As you have probably gathered, SheuDesign.com is where you will be able to view my completed design and web development work, as well as get the occasional update on my professional career.

Furthermore, fellow designers and web developers may be interested in what will be coming in the “Goodies” section, which I hope to develop into a resource on web design and development. I will be posting a couple of tutorials in the coming weeks, relating to queries from friends and fellow designers navigating the testy waters of web programming for the first time. For now, however, the “goods” consist only of a section I am calling ‘Gems of the Web’, where I share articles and links that address some of the most commonly encountered problems in developing for the web. This particular section was really inspired by my own struggles to reconnect with HTML, CSS, and jQuery after having spent a year working predominantly in Flash. If, for example, you have ever tried to create a sidebar with “height: 100%” with the hope that it will expand with the content—and subsequently arrived at your wits end—you may want to go here. May these pearls of web programming, generally written by the true luminaries in the industry, spare you some time trawling through forum discussions and Google results.
